5 A Day the Color Way
The Produce for Better Health Foundation recommends 5 to 9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables from five basic color groups as an easy way to get a variety of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals in your daily diet. Processed tomatoes, part of the red group, contain nutrients whose benefits include maintaining a healthy heart, good memory function, and urinary tract health. They may also lower the risk of developing some cancers.
